In accordance with the Church of England safeguarding policy, the parishes of the United Benefice of Kirkwhelpington, Kirkharle and Kirkheaton, and Cambo are committed to:
  • i) Promoting a safer environment and culture
  • ii) Safely recruiting and safeguarding all those with any responsibility related to children, young people - and vulnerable adults within the church
  • iii) Responding promptly to every safeguarding concern or allegation
  • iv) Caring pastorally for survivors of abuse and other affected persons
  • v) Caring pastorally for those who are the subject of concerns or allegations of abuse, and other affected persons
  • vi) Responding to those that may pose a present risk to others
